Tom is a founding Director at Akur and is responsible for the firm’s new energy and emissions, commodities and agriculture sectors. He gained his PhD in Climate Change in 1999, and his career has been focused on working with companies involved in renewable energy, infrastructure, clean technology, food and agriculture. He has a background in investment banking, project finance, and technical and strategic consultancy. Tom has focused on working with companies in the emerging markets seeking finance from London. He was previously at a number of banks and stockbroking houses in London. At Numis Securities his team were rated No.1 AIM fund raising team in the sector in both 2005 and 2006, and No.1 rated advisor at IPO for a renewable energy company in 2006. At Kaupthing, the team's biggest IPO in 2007 was awarded the PwC New Company of the Year at the PLC Awards in March 2008, and the team achieved the largest Asian IPO on London’s Main Market in 2008.
