Capital Raising
Akur’s approach to capital raising spans equity, convertibles, debt and other project and asset finance. We undertake both private and public placements, design bespoke products, and facilitate the distribution of public market equity. We work in conjunction with many of the leading investment banks and independent boutiques with whom we have had relationships over many years.
Over the past five years our team has raised more than $4bn of capital for clients as well as winning the PwC IPO of the year in 2008.
OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:
Initial Public Offerings
With our equity capital markets, corporate broking and institutional syndication backgrounds, we advise clients seeking to IPO. Acting in the capacity of Financial Advisor we have led many IPOs (working alongside equity broking firms) including New Britain Palm Oil Ltd, awarded New Company of the Year at the PwC UK PLC Awards in 2008.
Our client New Britain Palm Oil has created over $1.5bn of value for shareholders since we led its IPO in December 2007.
With detailed up-to-date knowledge of the performance of many equity broking firms we can advise on their appropriateness and likely success in any particular IPO. We are helped in this regard by having established, and taken to IPO, companies that we ourselves have created.
Industrial/Strategic Investors
Leveraging our sector knowledge we find industrial and financial partners for public and private companies seeking expansion finance. Often accruing additional commercial benefits, this approach offers an alternative to conventional equity issuance.
Private Placement
Structured as a conventional placement for private companies, as a pre-IPO financing for companies intending to seek a listing or as a Private Investment in Public Equity (PIPE) transaction for existing listed public companies seeking access to a wider investor base. We target financial investors from private offices, specialist sector funds, certain long-only institutions, hedge funds, and sovereign wealth funds.
