Andrew is the Chief Executive of Akur. He has more than 20 years investment banking experience gained from holding senior management positions in international investment banks and independent boutiques and has worked on client mandates in many countries. He began his career at Robert Fleming and Co. and subsequently became Head of North Europe ECM at Société Générale in London, was a Managing Director at Collins Stewart and also at Numis Securities. Most recently he was Head of Investment Banking Origination and Global Head of ECM at Kaupthing. Through these roles Andrew has been responsible for developing corporate broking and corporate finance departments from start-up and has led some of the most active and successful advisory businesses in the mid-market.
Andrew has also acted as a principal in the creation of several companies, particularly relating to infrastructure. He was responsible for developing The PFI Infrastructure Company plc, which in 2004 became the first listed company in London dedicate to investment in UK infrastructure. It was acquired by a consortium of 3i, Barclays Capital and Société Générale in a recommended bid advised by Andrew, that delivered a 35% IRR to the IPO investors.
Andrew is a director of one of India’s largest privately owned hydroelectricity projects (400MW) and was instrumental in the $240m transaction between Guggenheim and AIM listed Infrastructure India plc in March 2011. He has also undertaken a range of projects in Latin America including infrastructure, power, co-generation, and biofuels.
